Hi, I’m dr. Will Van Derveer
Growing up, I was always driven.
Achievement made sense to me. Structure made sense. Responsibility made sense.
So I did what high-capacity, motivated people do — I built.
I trained in medicine. I specialized in psychiatry. I immersed myself in clinical trials on trauma. Eventually, I co-founded the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and helped grow it into an eight-figure company training thousands of clinicians.
From the outside, it looked successful.
And in many ways, it was.
But along the way, I learned something most leaders discover quietly:
Success does not resolve the nervous system.
It doesn’t metabolize old trauma.
It doesn’t undo relational conditioning.
It doesn’t dissolve perfectionism, over-responsibility, or the subtle fear of failure.
In fact, pressure often amplifies what hasn’t been resolved.
One of the most defining moments of my leadership came when I had to lay off 75% of our team. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life. There was grief. Responsibility. Fear. The weight of impact on people I cared about.
What carried me through wasn’t business strategy.
It was the decades I had spent learning how to regulate under stress. How to metabolize grief without collapsing. How to separate necessary decisions from personal worth. How to hold boundaries without shutting down connection.
Big goals don’t wait for healing.
Which means healing has to become part of how you lead.
That realization changed how I practice medicine.
Today, I work with a small number of executives, founders, and high-capacity leaders who are ready to go deeper than optimization.
We don’t focus on hacks.
We don’t focus on performance tricks.
We focus on resolving the internal patterns that quietly limit capacity — at the level of nervous system, biology, identity, and relational conditioning.
My work integrates:
Trauma-informed functional medicine
Somatic and nervous system approaches
Psychedelic-assisted therapy where appropriate and legal
Collaboration with your existing medical and therapeutic providers
I’m bring over two decades of clinical experience. I’ve been involved in MDMA research and have trained thousands of clinicians through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.
But more than credentials, what I bring is lived experience as a physician and a founder.
I understand the pressure of leadership.
The loneliness at the top.
The invisible weight of responsibility.
The way success can mask depletion.
The aim of our work isn’t to help you tolerate your life.
It’s to help you fully inhabit it.
Presence.
Clarity.
Capacity.
Connection.
Availability is intentionally limited.
